United Nations Voluntariat Since 1998, the Staff Development Organisation has been nominated to act as the National Focal Point for the United Nations Volunteers [UNV] programme. Commonwealth Service Abroad Programme In 1993, it was suggested that the Commonwealth Fund for Technical Cooperation of the Commonwealth Secretariat should explore means to use the services of volunteers to meet the increasing demands for technical assistance by developing member countries of the Commonwealth.
