SCEPSTA (Standing Conference
of European Public Service Training Agencies) is a group of European
non-profit institutions, offering training and development for politicians,
managers and employees of the public service. Founded in 1973, the network
today consists of 21 members from 14 countries.
The main objective of SCEPSTA
is to provide a forum for the exchange of experiences, ideas and new
information on everything related to training and development of public
services in Europe.
The network meets at the
Annual Conference which is hosted by a different member organization each
year. Based on the participants’ own experiences, with input from speakers
outside the network, the Conference discusses themes of current relevance.
Malta will be hosting the next
Annual Conference due to be held between the 9-12 September 2007. This
year’s theme is Mobility Age Diversity: Is the
workforce driving you MAD? Co-create solutions with SCEPSTA.
The main themes to be dealt
with during the Conference, as indicated in the title, are mobility, age and
other issues of diversity such as, gender, culture (beliefs and values),
etc, and how training can and should address these issues.
